Course Description:
Prerequisite: Principles of Business and Finance
This course is designed to acquaint students with the basic legal principles common to al aspects of business and personal law. Business topics include contract law, business ownership including intellectual property, financial law, and national and international laws.Personal topics include marriage and divorce law, purchasing appropriate insurance, renting and owning real estate, employment law, and consumer protection laws. Social studies and English language arts are reinforced. Work-based learning strategies appropriate for this course include apprenticeship, internship, and job shadowing. Apprenticeship and cooperativeeducation are not available for this course. Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)competitive events, community service, and leadership activities provide the opportunity to apply essential standards and workplace readiness skills through authentic experiences.
